The Southern Baptists are the largest denomination in Alabama. Southern Baptist records are housed in theSamford University Library in Birmingham.The states' oldest church records, however, are the RomanCatholic Church dating back to 1699. Some Records of Methodists can be found at Birmingham SouthernCollege. The library also has a copy of the WPA survey of Inventory of Church Archives of Alabama Episcopal Church
