The Exodus Scheme in the South

Brooklyn Eagle Apr.17,1878

The impulsive Negro is ever on the lookout for excitement, and just now, from some one cause or the other.  Their excitement now is in the direction of emigration.

Freedom meant so much for them and was so thoroughly enjoyed for a time as long as troops were in the south but now the present outlook discourages them.

They are impatient for change and it is found in the propsed exodus to Liberia.
